Hollywood star presents laptop to Vietnamese AO child
VietNamNet Bridge – US Actress Tea Leoni presented a laptop to an Agent Orange child victim, La Thanh Toan, in the central city of Da Nang during her visit to AO victims in the city. The movie star also committed to pay annual Internet subscription fees for Toan, who is an excellent pupil.
Toan is one of three children who are infected with AO of a family in Da Nang city.
Around two months ago, Larry Vetter, an American veteran and a freelance journalist, presented tens of millions of dong to the family and a recorder to Toan. Vetter published an article about this family and the child.
From March 3-5, Tea Leoni was in Vietnam as an Ambassador of Goodwill of UNICEF. She paid visits to some orphanages and some families with AO children in Da Nang. This was the second time Teo Leoni has come to Vietnam as a UNICEF Ambassador of Goodwill. The first was in 2005 to promote the Global Campaign for Children and AIDS.
